Keen
Keen is a relative new player in the footwear market. It started in 2003 with a sandal which became famous by the way it protects the toes. This protection has become a trademark on their outdoor sandals, shoes and boots. Starting with a sandal, their products range now includes socks, quality hiking boots and fashionable shoes.
Their range on outdoor footwear is extensive and for some shoes/boots, goes beyond the regular sizes. This way Keen is offering a useful collection for the taller/bigger walker. Walking Trails has selected this footwear for its site. It ranges from a sturdy sandal to a type B hiking boot.
In the larger sizes the width of the Keen footwear is on the wide side. So if you have a long and slender foot, changes are that the Keen footwear is too wide for you. You can check if Keen footwear suits your feet by comparing your feet with the contours of the foot bed of the larger sizes. These you can find in this PDF-file.
The Keen US to European size conversion table does not conform to what is the norm. The table can be used up to US size 14 / European size 47,5. Above US size 14, the conversion is too small; a US size 17 usually is a European Size 51, the Keen conversion gives a European size 49. To prevent problems with sizing, US sizes are used. To get your US size, use the Keen sizing table up to US size 14 (European size 47,5). When you have big feet and do not know your US size, use this PDF-file. The problem has been brought to the attention of Keen, so I hope a more elegant solution will be available soon.
